GROUP CLASSES

All Happy Hands OT group classes are led and created by an Occupational Therapist with over 18 years of pediatric experience. Participating in group classes with a therapeutic approach provides quality learning while improving social and motor skills.

Group classes are structured for children of all abilities, and your child does not need to be receiving individual occupational therapy services to be a participant in our groups. Accepted forms of payment include checks and all major credit cards.

Fine Motor Arts & Grasp Class
July 5 - 8 (4-day class), 11:00 - 12:00pm (4 - 5.5 year olds)

A fun, skill-building, fine-motor focused camp to assist with handwriting and self-help skills! This week-long class is geared for all kids, not just children receiving therapy services. Participants will work on arts & crafts and play activities that encourage development of a functional pencil grasp, scissor skills, in-hand manipulation skills, finger isolation, and bimanual hand control for improved independence in self-help skills (i.e. buttoning, shoe-tying, etc.). Hand-eye coordination games, upper extremity strengthening, and shoulder stability activities will also be a focus in warm-up activities. Taught and designed by an Occupational Therapist. Cost: $200; $160 for July's 4-day class
Sensory-Motor Social Skills Class
June 20 - 24, 10:00 - 11:00am (5 - 7 year olds)

Participants will have the opportunity to work on social skills while participating in game play, sensory exploration activities, learning sensory strategies to assist with self-regulation, and completing sensorimotor movement games to challenge their motor planning skills, balance, coordination, and improve body awareness. Social skills focused on turn-taking, sharing, friendships, identifying feelings, and teamwork will be facilitated throughout all activities completed. Group is designed and led by an Occupational Therapist. Cost: $200; $160 for July's 4-day class
Happy Hands Learn Cursive
July 18 - 22, 12:30 - 1:30pm

9 - 12 years old
A week-long class where participants will be introduced to cursive handwriting and have the opportunity to practice their new cursive skills. A combination of activities from Handwriting Without Tears and First Strokes Handwriting programs will be used. Whole-body preparation activities such as Brain Gym, Yoga, and core stability/balance work will begin each group. Participants will then have an opportunity to learn large motor cursive strokes as well as completion of cursive tasks and worksheets in a fun group setting. Workbook & materials provided. Taught and designed by an Occupational Therapist. Cost: $200
Kindergarten Readiness Class

Children entering Kindergarten
It is important that children entering kindergarten have the necessary skills to succeed. Give your child a week-long, fun-filled skill building opportunity to focus on various fine motor, visual motor, and social skills needed for Kindergarten: Pre-writing skills, letter formation, grasping skills, scissor skills, pencil control, etc. while simultaneously building their social skills, listening, and direction following skills. This class utilizes a multi-sensory approach and is taught and designed by an Occupational Therapist. Cost: $200
